What Advice Can You Give to a Youngster?

Over the years I've done a lot, I think we all have, and therefore, perhaps we should be giving a little. In retirement I am the coordinator of a group of experts working online. One of the points we discussed recently was the concept of those who collect government money to volunteer in schools as teacher aides. We all thought it was a good concept, and really why should anyone be forced to help the next generation, they should, simply because it is what to do.

Last year, I received an interesting study of someone who asked for advice on boosting their future career and what advice can you give me as they were considering entering the business, "or life skills in general only for a young man like me?" Well, I said, it certainly has a lot of thoughts and advice, insurance, the basics are:

1.) Hard Work
2.) Work in comfort
3.) Boatloads of Making Friends
4.) Never give up

In fact, I told him in so many words that there are some decent books to be read, and mentors to be followed depending on what you're trying to accomplish in your life, of course. I have so much advice to give, so many experiences and observations, but it depends on one question?

After I gave this advice, I decided to consult my private library and pulled out a book entitled, "The wisdom of a young director, incredible letters and Advice Information about the business leaders of today" by Douglas Barry, published by Running Press , Philadelphia, PA, 2004, 176 pages, ISBN: 0-7624-1831-1.

In fact, I decided to reread the book to make sure that my advice was sound, it is, in fact there were chapters on each of my 4 points above. There were also many other themes that are serious considerations;

5.) Always have integrity
6.) Maintain a thirst for knowledge
7.) Be passionate
8.) Be curious
9.) Have Vision
10.) Practice Pragmatism

Anyway, now I know my mistake. But I think that these 10 points of contention like the best advice we give to young people who are early in their careers. If someone asks for advice I'd like to think this, and then give examples and talk about their experiences, and explain these attributes in real terms for our next generation of young superstars. In fact I hope you have all this in mind. Please reread this article again and think about it.
